Ayonava Mukerji

Ayonava Mukerji is an experienced leader within Australia’s formwork and construction industry, with a career spanning more than two decades across site-based delivery, senior management, and industry consultation. Beginning his professional journey as a carpenter, Ayonava completed his Certificate III in Carpentry through the CFMEU apprenticeship scheme—an achievement that laid the foundation for his long-term commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and accountability on site.

Over the years, Ayonava progressed into senior leadership roles with established construction and formwork organisations, including Hutchinson Builders, Wideform, and Caelli Formwork. His experience also includes part-ownership of a successful formwork business, where he was directly involved in workforce leadership, client coordination, and the delivery of large-scale construction projects. This breadth of experience has shaped a leadership approach that balances commercial outcomes with practical, on-the-ground realities.

Ayonava’s contribution extends beyond individual projects. He played a direct role in the consultation and drafting of Queensland’s Formwork Code of Practice 2016, ensuring that safety standards reflected real-world construction conditions. He was also called into the Commission of Enquiry for the BERT scheme, supporting broader industry initiatives focused on training, safety, and long-term workforce sustainability.

Currently, through his leadership at Omega Structures, Ayonava continues to apply disciplined, detail-focused management principles while maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement and industry development.
